After moving back to Ontario from out west, my family and I returned for a vacation to one of our favourite places, the 1000 Islands and the Glen House Resort.
As a young family we had always enjoyed the relaxed and casual atmosphere of Glen House. Our kids were able to combine the outdoor life of fishing, paddle boats and swimming with the pleasure of dining that satisfied both their taste and our adult preferences.
Now our kids are teenagers. They were at first reluctant to go on a family holiday, but after being able to explore the islands on their own now, as well as biking and playing golf at "Smugglers' Glen" across the highway, they were glad we came back.
As a gardener I was impressed by the new gardens and the varieties of flowers they have now. They really make the place look great.
The office staff was very informative and pleasant. They suggested new attractions that would appeal to us such as the Gananoque Playhouse and (for my husband and me) the casino. We found all the staff to be personable and accommodating.
Our rooms were comfortable and clean, and they were appealing after our busy days outdoors.
We were all delighted in returning to Glen House and will definitely go back in the future.
"Beautiful!"

The Glen House Resort is a beautiful place to stay anytime of the year. This was not my first trip to the Glen House and it definitely won’t be my last! Besides the amazing view from my room, the staff were very accommodating and pleasant to chat with, the grounds were well maintained and there was always something to do! The room was beautiful and there was absolutely nothing to complain about! I would recommend the Glen House to anyone who is planning to visit the Thousand Islands! It is definitely a home away from home and the best place to stay!
"Dear Tripadvisor"
I have recently returned from a weekend spent golfing with friends in The Thousand Islands while staying at Glen House Resort.
As organizer of our group of 10 couples my husband and I were concerned about some of the bad reviews at Tripadvisor, however we decided to take the chance to access our Tee times at The Resorts golf course Smuggler’s Glen.
We arrived the weekend of Sept. 19th and went directly to Smuggler’s for our twilight pkg. round of golf. We were greeted by friendly knowledgeable staff who got us off on time on a beautifully designed and maintained track. I lost more then my share of balls but it was thoroughly enjoyable.
After our first round we checked into our accommodation which wasn’t as bad as feared. It was clean and comfortable didn’t have much of a view but we were spending most of our time on the course anyway. We felt we received great value at $259. each including golf and continental breakfast. The breakfast was a little disappointing, next year we will have the full breakfast.
Some of our group received a free upgrade to a chalet with a large living room which gave us space to socialize in the evening.
The food was good the staff was friendly and the bar tender kept us in stitches.
It’s true the parking lot was jammed and the place was full, good for them, they must be doing something right.
The clerk quipped “write us a good review “ at check-out which I am doing as our gang is going back for more prime rib, good times and golf next year!
Yours truly,
Mrs. Anthony Kim
