Scenic Drives for Sightseeing

Open up your windows or put the top down and take in our beautiful scenery and fresh country air. Take a short drive to go hiking or sightseeing or perhaps choose a destination to drive to for lunch and shopping. Below are a few of our recommended and popular destinations.

Trip across the 1000 Islands International Bridge to visit the towns of Alexandria Bay N.Y. Or Clayton N.Y. (Passports will be needed) Take in a beautiful panoramic view of the 1000 Islands from atop the bridge. Make sure to stop in to visit the Sky Deck Tower. Visit the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton. Both towns offer a wide variety of shops and restaurants.

Drive to Westport. Stop in along the way at Chaffey’s or Jones Falls to visit the Rideau Lock System. Westport offers a variety of tourist shops and restaurants. Make sure you stop in at Kilborns on the Rideau, a unique country store in Newboro.

Drive to Merrickville. Travel through the back country of eastern Ontario and experience the beauty of our rural and farming communities. The quaint old mill town of Merrickville is about a 40 minute drive from the Glen House Resort. A variety of memorable shops and restaurants await you in Merrickville.
