Jason Boyce
Golf Course Superintendent

Jason has been with Smuggler’s Glen Golf Course since breaking ground in 2004 and has been active in the golf industry for most of his life. Jason found his passion for the industry during his high school years working as an attendant in the Bag Storage and Pro Shop at the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club where his father, Peter Boyce was the acting CPGA Golf Pro at the time.

While attending the University of Windsor for Business Administration, Jason made the decision to pursue a career in golf course maintenance. During the summer months, he was fortunate to gain practical experience working at a variety of prestigious facilities including, Banff Springs, Board of Trade Golf Course and Cataraqui Golf and Country Club.

Following graduation from Business School, Jason attended the Seneca College Turfgrass Program and achieved further experience at the DiamondBack Golf Course which hosted two Canadian Tour Championships during his stay. Valuable knowledge in building a golf course from the ground up was first gained while Jason worked at the Thomas McBroom designed Granite Club during its construction and grow-in phases.

Jason found his way back to the Cataraqui Golf and Country Club as an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent from 2001-2004 in which he observed an entire bunker renovation.

Jason is dedicated to continuing education, providing a highly conditioned golf course and strives to have Smuggler’s Glen Golf Course Audubon certified by 2012.
